Candy Zoo was actually born one evening while we were at a friend's dinner party. My husband, Gene, and I brought the hostess and host a basket of our chocolate almond toffee as a gift.

Every year during the holidays, we would get calls from our circle of friends asking..... "Are you making toffee this year?" In the early days Gene spent long evenings in the kitchen tinkering with ingredients and preparing many pounds of this yummy toffee. I would help by wrapping the toffee in a festive package and we'd give it to family, friends and clients as our holiday gift. It's a recipe that I'd shared with him over 30 years ago and somehow the toffee has become our personal trademark

That particular evening, the hostess passed our candy around the room and (as always) it was a huge sensation...... the toffee became the main topic of the party chatter for the rest of the evening. I decided then and there that it was time to share this treat with others and Candy Zoo was born.

Over the years, our family's "secret recipe" has evolved into the perfect combination of yum! As we like to say, it's not soft and sticky like other toffees nor is it hard like a brittle........ It's something perfectly in-between that melts in your mouth and leaves you wanting more.

Our first and the original toffee recipe was Chocolate Almond and it was an instant sensation. We've since added Chocolate Pecan and a fabulous Low Carb Sugar Free version of both for those of you with diet restrictions. In the near future, we'll add additional varieties including cashew, pistachio, macademia, plain and organic.
